School History

In 1946, “Fuhsing Kindergarten” was founded to fulfill the purpose of its name--reviving Chinese culture. In 1952, because of the high reputation of Fuhsing Kindergarten, the School Board established Fuhsing Elementary School. Lu Pei-Yu was the first chairperson of the Board. Madam Fang Zhi-Ping served as the first principal. In 1968, Fuhsing Junior High School was founded and made Fuhsing a K-9 school. Madam Lin Shen acted as the chairman of the Board, hiring Madam Yuan Yong-Zhen as the principal.

Since the move from the campus at Nan Yang St. in 1960 to the current location, Fuhsing campus has gradually aged and became crowded with a higher number of enrollment. It was apparent that new buildings and bigger space were needed. Thus, on March 19th, 2002, with the full support from the School Board, the school commenced the first of its three stages of the re-construction process.

On August 7, 2006, Taipei Education Bureau granted the establishing of “Taipei Fuhsing Private School”, a complete K-12 experimental high school. Ms. Li Yin was the chairwoman of the Board. Dr. Phoebe Lee served as the first principal. In 2007, Bilingual School began its first year, welcoming 60 Grade 1 students. Then in 2009 Bilingual School started its first Grade 7 class; and its first high school class of Grade 10 students in 2010. The goal of Bilingual School is to cultivate students with excellent abilities in both Chinese and skill so that they can excel when studying abroad.

At present, Taipei Fuhsing Private School includes Senior High School, Junior High School, Elementary School, Preschool, and Bilingual School. It also contains five teaching centers: English Research Center, founded in 1993, Computer Center, founded in 1997, Outdoor Education Center, founded in 1999, Physical Education Center, founded in 2008, and Arts and Humanities, founded in 2008.

Taipei Fuhsing Private School has received numerous merit awards bestowed by the government of Taipei City in categories including Administration Management, Professional Development, Campus Building, Curriculum Development, Student Learning and Resource Organization.

“Strive for excellence from local to global; embrace the future through science and technology” has always been the educational goal and responsibility that Fuhsing insists, hoping to cultivate world-class leaders for our country.
